Roald Dahl's great children's book Danny, the Champion of the World concludes with the author's urgent advice to his readers:
When you grow up and have children of your own, do please remember something important. A stodgy parent is no fun at all! What a child wants — and DESERVES — is a parent who is SPARKY!
Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my child's vivid fantasy life or whether that station will be held by anybody else, these pages must show. But I certainly lay down on the job on this particular day, a day my bone-tiredness bumped up against Otter's indefatigable imagination.
But you know what? I bet there were days that even Roald Dahl sacked out on the sofa rather than conjure up another beloved children's classic.
Regardless, here is Actual Conversations With My Kids #002 for your amusement. Enjoy and please do share on the social media platform of your choice. We'll see you back here on Monday.
