With both of my kids, I often indulge in smart-ass, over-their-heads humor designed to amuse only me. They wisely ignore such indulgences, as evidenced in Actual Conversations With My Kids #005.

For historical context, this exchange took place during the 2007—08 Writers Guild of America strike. Negotiators for the striking writers reached a tentative agreement the day after this conversation occurred. (I have no doubt that Flapjack's tuna joke was the turning point.)
